Confucian Family Mansion
In the city of Qufu, there is the Kong (Chinese for Confucian) Family Mansion. It once was where the first male descendant of Kongzi (Confucius) used to live and work. This house is pretty old since it was built more than 2000 years ago. The architectural compound has mainly three parts. In the eastern part can be found the family shrine. In the central part, there used to be the offices in the front, while in the back the living quarters. Instead, the western part was dedicated to host guests, but now it holds an exhibition of ancient treasures and books.
