On the west part of Hangzhou city, it is surrounded by mountains on three sides. It also have three island in it and covers an area of 5,6 square km. It is very also famous in Chinese Literature for the romantic legend of "The white snake".

| Liuhe Pagoda (The Six Harmonies Pagoda)
Situate on Mount Yuelung, on the northern bank of the Qiantang River, it was firstly built in 970 during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The 13-stories pagoda that we can admire today was rebuilt in bricks in 1153.
