The Yellow River flows through this ancient city which has a history longer than 5,000 years and has been capital for 13 dynasties and 96 emperors!

Located 15 km south of  the city of Luoyang, the Longmen Grottoes are one of the best three most spectacular treasures of Buddhist grotto's engraving art in China. It extend for about 1 km. There are more than 2,100 niches, 43 pagodas, 3,600 tablets and more than 100,000 statues. The biggest is 17,14 meters tall, while the smallest is only 2 cm!

Situated at about 12,5 km east of Luoyang, The White Horse Temple was the first Buddhist Temple in China, since Buddhism began to spread, so it is often called "Temple number One in China". The temple is called the "White Horse Temple" because a legend refers that two Indian monks brought some sutra (Buddhist scriptures) to Luoyang riding 2 white horses.
