This Park is situated to the northwest of the Forbidden City. Its name literally means "North Lake". In its waters lies the so called Jade Island (Qionghuadao). At its top, the White Pagoda, built in 1651 and 35.9 meters high, towers over the lake and its scenery. Inside the Pagoda you can see a statue of Buddha made in white jade, a very precious stone.
