Dalian Introduction
 is located in Liaoning Province (C.P.R.). It lies in the southern part of Liaodong Peninsula. It is one of the most important industry based city and main seaport in China. Also, it is the most important opening to a littoral city, covering an area of 12,574 square kilometers and with a population of 5.23 million people.
It is surronded by low mountains and hills. Near the sea, there is a small plain. The coast line is crooked, and there are also many bays. It has the maritime monsoon climate of the warm temperate zone. Dalian has an average annual temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, and an average annual precipitation of 700mm. The black frost period can last 180 to 210 days. The mineral resources are abundant. There is coal, asbestos, lime, silicon, magnesium and copper. Dalian abounds in littoral aquatic products and salt as well.
The industries in Dalian are among the most important in China. Machine and chemical industry are the main fields in this area.
