As from this year, substantial reform will be introduced to divide each of the annual two events of Guangzhou Fair into two periods, as announced at the 91st Chinese Export Commodities Fair (Guangzhou Fair).

Since 1957 the Guangzhou Fair has been expanded influenced by many reforms, with the contracted value standing for about one third of China's general exports, and it is also known as" the best exposition in China".

With the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the annual CECF divided into two six-day sessions, started last Autumn Canton Fair (2005).

The first session of the 99th CECF will be held from April 15-20, and the second from April 25 to 30.

The first session will cover exhibits of two categories of commodities in 18 exhibition zones;

The second will feature two categories of goods in 17 exhibition zones. Domestic traders will use the four-day break between the two events to re-organize the exhibition halls and display their products once again.

The first part of the fair will focus on industrial raw materials, electronics, machine tools, textiles, garments, food, medicine and health products, while the second will display industrial light products, arts and crafts, gifts, office articles and materials for interior decorating. The reform is aimed at further keeping in line with international standards and meeting the increasing demands from a growing number of Chinese companies expected to attend the biggest Chinese trade event.
